Lauren here…Happy First Father’s Day to my hubby! Its safe to say the first 2 1/2 months of our daughters life have NOT been what every new parent ever imagine or even think about. Our precious little girl has had a rough start in life. She’s had some medical issues that have required two hospitalizations, numerous scary procedures, too many doctors appointments to even count, and a level of stress and worry no first time parent can prepare for. We both got flung into the scary part of parenthood but if it wasn’t for Shane’s constant love, support and sacrifices I wouldn’t have been able to get through these last couple of months. He is definitely our family rock and AMAZING Daddy to Rowyn. Here’s Daddy and Rowyn celebrating yesterday.

Meet newly engaged couple Jen and Calvin! Jen is a professional violin player (how cool is that!) and Calvin is an acupuncturist. I was super excited when they contacted me to do their engagement shoot because just from talking to them over the phone they seemed adventurous and up for anything. There was a new location I had been waiting to shoot at but just needed the perfect couple, and they were definitely it! They drove down from Irvine and met me in Escondido at this great little ranch. Jen literally hiked 2 miles in her 3 inch heels and didn’t complain once. I’m so glad she didn’t mind the hike because I think it was definitely worth it, just check out how beautiful this location is!

Meet little Sofia! She came into this world at just 30 weeks old and 3 pounds! She is doing great and was already over 5 pounds when we did her photos. She seemed so tiny to us because our little chunk was over 8 pounds when she was born so we never experienced a little baby like Sofia. Its truly a miracle how perfectly formed babies are when they make their entrance into this world, even when they arrive more than two months early like Sofia, they are perfect!
